A Day at High Spirit
Participating in music class, horseback riding, daily chores, working in the garden, hikes on local trails and trips to the movies are all a part High Spirit's action- packed day to day scene. All the residents of the Seekonk house are out and about on a daily basis. Volunteering at High Spirit is a challenging, rewarding, and life-changing experience. By working and living with young people with disabilities and also children, animals, and community members, everyone learns to grow and gain diverse perspectives on the world together. Our volunteers have all left lasting impressions on Seekonk house and we value their dedication to providing love and care to everyone they interact with. Currently, High Spirit has three long-term volunteers: Philipp, Julius, and Luisa from Germany.

Johannes Memories
"On the one hand there is this great, humorous atmosphere, and on the other hand perfect support.
In my opinion it’s not just the good care that makes High Spirit work so special, it’s like a perfect concept for everyone: to improve their social skills, but even more to discover their talents. I am very impressed with William who has changed so much in just the three months that I have known him. He used to get stuck in a behavior often, and now he’s much more cooperative. And Caroline who seemed to be really low functioning to me because of her limited speaking abilities, she turned out to be so smart and clever with her communication board. Everybody was overwhelmed to discover her huge general knowledge.
I am benefiting from the work as well, because it makes me think more about my own behavior. Being part of High Spirit makes me feel more thankful for everything."
