Live-In Coworkers

The Live-In Coworkers include:

All are essential to the High Spirit Community Farm culture. We benefit from the fresh energy that they bring, their hard work, and the inevitable strong friendships that form.

The live-in coworkers do a little bit of everything, but their most important job is to form a meaningful relationship with the residents with disabilities for whom they provide caring companionship. They help in the home with cooking, cleaning, hygiene and contributing to a positive home environment. They also assist in our Day Program by joining the residents for arts, athletic and social activities in town, and by participating in on-site farm programming such as: soapmaking, growing vegetables and flowers, caring for animals, woodworking, and other nature-based activities. Coworkers may develop these additional job skills during their time at High Spirit:

  • Direct Support Professional Skills

  • Cooking

  • Day Program Leadership and Planning

  • Goal Setting and Achievement

  • Leadership Basics (scheduling, budgeting, staff management, conflict management)

Join us for a year of friendship, personal growth, and new accomplishments.

Coworkers have two days off every week and get six weeks of vacation each year, planned in accordance with their House calendar. They have shared access to a High Spirit car on their free days which they can use for local travel and a gym membership is available. Share your experience with a cohort of other young coworkers at High Spirit.
